IVN-Task 4- Final Project
24.11.2025- 04.01.2025/ Week 10- Week 14
This series is inspired by Jay Marshall’s quote: time does not heal wounds by itself; it only passes. What matters is what we do while time is passing.
My main idea is: time is only the background, and action is the real key to healing**. So I used three illustrations to show a process from “getting hurt” to “waiting” and then “taking action”. Healing is not sudden; it is built by choices over time.
1. I used four main symbols (heart, flower, time, writing) so the theme is clear without text.
2. I placed “time” in the middle image because time is neutral**. It passes, but it cannot choose for us.
3. The desk/table appears in Image 1 and 3, making the story feel like moments from one person’s life.
4. The colors move from bright → dark → warm. This creates an emotional curve from hurt to rebuilding.
My biggest learning is using object metaphors to tell a story. Even without characters, emotions can still be shown.
Image 2 has strong symbolism, but some viewers may read it as “time makes everything worse”. Next time, I would add a clearer action clue, like a note, a half-written sentence, or a small sprout, to show that change comes from action.
In the future I want to try:
1. richer lighting (from candlelight to morning light)
2. more consistent object details (bandage texture, wood perspective)
3. a short caption for each image to strengthen the narrative
