Reflection

As a beginner in typography and layout design, this Adobe InDesign course was a challenging but rewarding learning experience for me. At the early stage of the course, I had very limited knowledge of layout design and little experience with design software. I often found the interface of InDesign confusing and felt that completing assignments was difficult.

In the first part of the learning process, I focused on basic skills such as text editing, paragraph settings, and simple page layouts. Although these skills seemed basic, they were not easy for a beginner. I often needed to try many times before understanding how to organize text properly. Through continuous practice, I gradually realized that typography is not only about placing text on a page, but also about improving readability and clarity.

As my learning progressed, I began to understand more structured concepts, including grid systems, font pairing, visual hierarchy, and layout rhythm. During this stage, I could clearly see my improvement. Even though challenges still existed, I became more confident in analyzing problems and improving my work based on feedback from the teacher. I also learned to be more patient and understood that revision is an essential part of the design process.

Overall, this course helped me improve both my technical skills in Adobe InDesign and my understanding of typography. I now pay more attention to details and try to design from the reader’s perspective. Looking back on the learning process, the progress I made from the beginning to the end has increased my confidence and provided a solid foundation for my future studies in design.
